Of course, we also take phone orders, and even if you just have questions, we're always ready to talk about our speakers and audio. 614-448-1811 or toll-free in USA 866-535-8835. Open 9 - 6 Eastern Time (GMT - 5). Trade-in's. If you want to save yourself the trouble of selling your current speakers, then as long as they are valued at less than the JansZen's that you want to buy, we'll make you a reasonable offer based on your photos and description. We will also consider taking in speakers that have a higher value on a case by case basis, but will not remit the price difference to you until we have sold them. Auditions. Since we're not selling through dealers, there aren't any stores where you can hear JansZen speakers, but we think we can make up for that. Please read on. First, we maintain a list of owners who have said they'll generally be willing to let people listen to their systems. This option might work well for you, but it does rely on the existence of an owner who lives near you and happens to be in a willing mood when we ask. Second, owners are welcome to sell our speakers, and such an owner might live near you. If you are interested in both owning and selling JansZen speakers, it's a simple arrangement; please contact us for details. The usual case is you'll be buying without first hearing them. Our solution to that problem is a risk-free, thirty day, in-home trial. In any event, buying direct has some advantages over buying from a dealer. Buying direct. Whether you hear them first or not, you'll save thousands of dollars in dealer markup. Outside the USA, you'll also save the distributor markup. Some think it's almost as good just to avoid the exclusive atmosphere of high end audio dealerships and the puzzlement of big box stores. Plus, we'll never push overpriced cables or worthless accessories on you. Sure, our speakers are expensive, but when you see and hear them, you'll naturally understand why, unlike a $5000 set of wires. It's an unforgettable experience, whereas pricey cables take quite the leap of faith. Best of all, our in-home trial lets you listen in your own space and with your own equipment for far longer than any dealer is going to let you do that, as follows: Satisfaction guarantee -- in-home trial. We're so sure you'll totally love these speakers, that if you're not happy, you can send them back within thirty days in their original condition and packaging, and get a full refund. All you'd pay is shipping and insurance, which in the USA should be in the $150 to $250 range via FedEx Ground. As soon as we get the speakers back and confirm their condition, we'll refund your money promptly. If something has happened to them, we'll have to talk about that, but they are very durable and should be fine if you take reasonable care. Support. We offer all owners free, unlimited factory telephone and email support, and useful articles and tips can be found on our web site. Also, at the time of each sale, we will locate a shop that agrees to service the speakers within a reasonable distance of your home, or at least in the nearest metropolitan area. And you'll need no help setting these up -- it's as simple as with any speakers. Availability. The zA2.1 is usually in stock with solid walnut baffles that have a hand rubbed finish, pictured to the right. Solid maple or cherry baffles are also available at no extra cost, but may take some extra time. We make the baffles from solid wood only, and do not use veneer. (Owner's note: I see that speaker in the picture is facing away at an unfriendly angle -- lack of foresight in photography -- your speakers would be so much friendlier! -David J.) Foreign orders. We ship worldwide. No modifications are needed for worldwide operation. The power supply adapts automatically to any mains voltage and frequency, and in most cases, we can supply an IEC power cord that fits your outlets. As with US sales, we will locate a shop that agrees to service the speakers within a reasonable distance of your home, although there is a chance that language barriers may prevent this in some cases. We must apologize that we speak no languages other than English at JansZen. If you do not speak English, we may be able to communicate with text through a translation site like Babelfish, as you might have done already to read this web site. Options Option prices are per speaker. Granite plinth -- solid, polished, black granite plinth weighs 16 kg (36 pounds) -- the extra reaction mass in the platform can improve the bass response and reduce coupling to the floor -- US$290 each. JansZen Deadwall -- lamination of the interior of the enclosure with layers of engineered, highly damped mass -- this removes all traces of resonance from the already well behaved enclosure -- adds 4.5 kg [10 pounds] to each speaker -- US$310 each. Baffle wood -- You can choose any wood that is available from renewable sources. The price will depend on raw wood prices and shop time, both of which will vary with the type of wood, and how difficult it is to work and finish. Paint -- Baffles: We have two standard, durable, high grade, clear-coated, gloss paints available for the baffles. These are pictured in the photo rotation on the home page. Shock red -- US$350 each Organic white (slightly creamy) -- US$320 each Both were selected for visual harmony with the standard, dark, neutral matte gray cabinet. The baffle can also be painted any color and gloss level you wish. Custom colors are US$350 per order plus $150 per speaker. We use the most advanced, water-borne paints available. They are as durable as any solvent-based paints, release no VOC's in the painting process, and none of the waste is toxic to plants or creatures. Paint -- Enclosures, risers and plinths: These parts can be painted any color you wish. In a matte finish, custom colors are US$350 per order plus $150 per speaker. Gloss paint is also available, and due to the potential for substantial added labor, the charges will be determined at the time of the order. Warranty. JansZen speakers are warranted for five years against failure caused by defects in materials or workmanship. The warranty is transferable pending notice and documentation to us of the speakers' condition at the time they are sold. Repair under warranty will be conducted quickly, either at the factory, at a service center located close to the owner, or at the owner's home. Any associated expenses are covered, such as shipping and travel. The warranty is limited in the usual way -- evidence of abuse or tampering will void it. Model One Availability. The Model One is not available at this time, but should be back in production by the end of 2012. We do have a demo pair with a curly cherry back panel and gunmetal gray metallic paint that we took back from a dealer. The original price is US$29,950. The photo rotation on the contact page shows this particular pair. It was the first off the line, S/N J1P100001L and J1P100001R, perhaps giving it some eventual historical significance. If you are interested in this pair, please contact us with an offer. |
