Updating the Technology and Design

Arthur A. Janszen invented the first practical electrostatic high fidelity loudspeaker based on his academic research work in the mid-1940's, and by 1954, had refined, patent- ed and begun manufacturing it for home audio. For the next twenty years, he was associated with the finest loudspeakers made, beginning with the JansZen Labora- tory 1-30 and continuing through the 1970's with speakers from Neshaminy Electronic, KLH, Acoustech, and ERC.

Now, again, there is an electrostatic loudspeaker com- pany with a Janszen doing the engineering, and we have restored the family charter of making the best sound reproducers of our time.

JansZen Loudspeaker, Ltd. was founded in 2005 by David A. Janszen, Arthur's elder son. After decades as an engi- neer in audio, ultrasound, instrumentation, embedded software, and manufacturing processes, David decided in 2004 to integrate and put into practice his personal electrostatic loudspeaker research and development work.

This R/D was based on ideas inspired by his early immer- sion in his father's work, degrees in physics and engin- eering design, extensive R&D experience with elec- tronics, acoustics, materials-and-methods, and apprecia- tion of accurate sound reproduction.

JansZen Loudspeaker, Ltd. is the humble name of the not so humble maker of a relatively small number of the very best sound reproducers. We pledge that as we grow, the uncompromising technology and quality of our systems will remain consistently strong and state of the art.
